Chapter 5 Test on Tuesday, 2/28 - Review your vocabulary words, map of China, and study guide notes.
I have postponed the due date for your final NHD research paper. Instead of being due on Thursday, 3/1, it will now be due on Monday, 3/5. Take advantage of your extra time, and make sure your research paper is not about the life of the person, but about the impact they had on society. Refer to your essential questions on NHD assignment #1 when writing your final report.
Class 4B - All of your grades will be updated over the weekend and individual progress reports will be sent home on Tuesday reflecting your most updated grade to be signed by your parents/guardians.

300 word draft of report typed; double spaced; Times New Roman, size 12 font; 1” margins; black ink, and title page (NHD format). (15 Points)

Working Bibliography (one primary and two secondary sources minimum) provided in MLA format. Internal citations in your document are required. Citations are used to credit the source. (5 Points)

If you didn't finish your Chapter 5, Section 4 assessment questions 1-3 on pg. 160 in your textbook in class, they will also be due tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/22).

Due to technical difficulties, I was not able to update all of the grades for class 4B in grade portal. They will be updated by the end of the week.

NHD Assignment #4 (Outline of your research paper) is due tomorrow.
If you didn't finish your short response (6-8 sentences) paragraph explaining the important advancements and accomplishments of your chosen dynasty last class period, it will be due tomorrow.
If you didn't turn in your take-home quiz on Section 2 on Monday (or if I gave you the option to recycle it), you will be taking a quiz on Section 3 tomorrow.
As promised, new Knights of the Round Table will be announced tomorrow, so make sure you come to class prepared!

Assignment 3 of your NHD timeline will be due on Monday (2/13). You should have a minimum of 15 note cards with information you've gathered from your sources. Each note card should have at least 3-4 sentences of information. Copy and paste the link below to view your timeline of assignments.

If you didn't finish your Chapter 3, Section 2 open book Quiz in class on Thursday, it will be due on Monday (2/13).
Chapter 5 Project grades are posted. Overall, you all did an excellent job! Great work!

National History Day (NHD) Parent Letter should be signed and returned on Tuesday (2/7) for 10 points.
Chapter 5 Project is due on Tuesday (2/7). Remember to include at least 2 sources in MLA format (Use the MLA handout I provided on Friday for reference).
If you want to take the opportunity to recycle your extended response assignment for a better grade, it will be due Tuesday (2/7).
The first 2 assignments on your NHD timeline will be due Tuesday (2/7). You will need a pack of notecards in a ziploc bag, a short explanation summarizing why your chosen person was important and the impact they had on society, and at least 2 out of 3 source cards (in MLA format). If you have trouble finding a primary source, focus on acquiring at least 2 secondary sources. Remember, internet sources are limited to .org and .edu websites. If you have yet to turn in your 3-column vocabulary definitions, make sure you turn it in tomorrow for half credit.

If you didn't finish your geography chart and extended response in class the last 2 periods, make sure they are done and ready for peer evaluation by tomorrow! This is an important assignment for your portfolio and can hurt your grade if not it is not finished in time. The prompt for your response is written below.

Analyze how geography influences the growth of civilizations. Remember to cite evidence we have learned so far this year.
