I am in the process of grading all chapter 4 recycled tests, chapter 5 tests, chapter 5 extra credit projects, and chapter 5 station work. I'm planning on having all of these grades finalized in grade portal by our first day back at school.
I announced in class that there is no written homework over the break, but I do want all students to read the Chapter 6, Lesson 1 before school starts back up so that we can hit the ground running. Make sure to read this a few days before we head back, as there will most likely be a short quiz on the basic informaton covered in the lesson.
I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break! See you all in 2013!

NHD Update
Assignments 1, 2 & 3 on the NHD timeline will be due in either Mr. Schemer’s team time or Mr. Petrick’s team time (depending on your group). Completion of these assignments on time will count as both a team time grade and a Civics grade. You will have a total of 7 hours of class time in team time to complete these assignments, which allows everyone more than enough time to finish. Most team times have already completed assignment 1 (5 extended responses to essential questions), and will be expected to have assignment 2 (five source cards & draft of annotated bibliography) completed by the time they get to the next NHD team time, where they will work on assignment 3 (50 note cards). You must have each assignment signed by your NHD team time teacher on your timeline in order to receive credit.
These NHD team time rotations will be completed by January 25th. From that point, the rest of the assignments will be due in my classroom on the following dates.
Assignment #4 – Formal Outline – Due January 31st (B-Day) & February 1st (A-Day)
Assignment #5 – 1st Draft of Paper with Title Page & 2nd Draft of Annotated Bibliography – Due February 14th (B-Day) & February 15th (A-Day)
Assignment #6 – Final paper with Title Page & Final Annotated Bibliography (100 Points) & Timeline (with teacher signatures) for each completed assignment (100 points) – Due February 28th (A-Day) & March 1st (B-Day).

Important Reminders
- All 6 stations of the Chapter 5 station work will be due Thursday, 12/13 (A-Day), and Friday, 12/14 (B-Day). This requires you to log on to your online book (which students have had over 2 months to do). Check your assigned work section on the online book's website and you will find the assignments.
- The Chapter 5 test will also be on Thursday, 12/13 (A-Day) and Friday, 12/14 (B-Day). Use your outlined notes from your station work as a study guide (they will be extremely helpful in preparing for the test).
- Chapter 5 EXTRA CREDIT project will be due on Thursday, 12/13 (A-Day), and Friday, 12/14 (B-Day). If you are planning on completing this assignment, you should get started ASAP in order to avoid having to work on everything at once. Plan ahead!!
