Supreme Court Justice - Extra Credit

Due Tuesday, 4/2 (B-Day) & Wednesday, 4/3 (A-Day)

Directions:

1. Research a Supreme Court Justice. Use the following website to help you in finding a justice, www.supremecourt.gov/about/members.aspx.
2. Create a brochure about your Supreme Court Justice. Include the following information:
1. About their life
2. Education
3. President who appointed them
4. When they served on the Supreme Court
5. List an important case that came before the Supreme Court while a Justice.

                                          i.    What were the main arguments of the case?

                                        ii.    What was the ruling?

3. Your brochure should be put together in a threefold fashion. Brochure should be on white computer paper. Information should be in pen or typed. NO PENCIL! Information should be in your own words. NO COPYING and PASTING!!
4. Your brochure should include at least 7 visuals. Visuals should pertain to the information.
5. HINT: This is extra credit. You should make it the best project you have done. It should not look like you put it together on the way to school.
6. A bibliography must be with your assignment. You must tell me where you found your information and pictures.

Rubric:

Points	Name	Description
20	Bibliography	A bibliography is with the assignment. At least 2 sources are cited in MLA format. Bibliography is typed or in pen.
10	Mechanics	Project is put together as specified in directions. A brochure is created. Information is typed or in pen. Computer paper is used.
30	Content	Information is accurate and correct. Information is put in student’s own terms. Information is typed or in pen.
30	Visuals	At least 7 visuals are used. Visuals are clear and easy to understand. Visuals are not drawn in pencil.
10	Organization	Brochure is easy to understand. Brochure is nicely put together.
