Chapter 3, Lesson 4 Notes

After the test, all students took guided notes in their notebook using Chapter 3, Lesson 4 in the textbook.  The directions are below for students that were unable to finish their notes or absent.



Read chapter 3 lesson 4 on page 70. After you have read, copy and complete the following information on the right hand side of your civics notebook. Remember: notes go on the right hand side and activities are on the left.

Objective: Identify the relationship and division of powers between the federal government and state government.

-          Government provides order and security
o   List the 6 ways governments keep order and provide security for their citizens
-          The government must provide services for its citizens.
o   List some of the different services it provides to its citizens
-          Government guides the community through public policy.
o   Define public policy:
