10/8 & 10/9 Homework & Driftwood Update

The following homework assignment will be due in class on Wednesday (A-Day classes - 10/10) & Thursday (B-Day classes - 10/11) for those students who ARE NOT going on the Driftwood field trip.  For those who ARE going on the Driftwood field trip, this assignment will be due Monday (B-Day classes - 10/15) & Tuesday (A-Day classes - 10/16).  However, I highly suggest you finish this assignment before you leave for driftwood, as you will have other assignments to catch up on when you get back.

Read “Dred Scott vs. Sandford” on page 61 and answer the following prompt on a plain sheet of paper.
Travel back in time and pretend you were Dred Scott’s lawyer.  Develop an argument you
would present to the Supreme Court.  Include three main ideas with details supporting
and explaining your view/argument.  Follow the extended response rubric. (At least 8
sentences stating topic, 3 main ideas with supporting details, and a closing).

Driftwood Update:  If you are going on the driftwood field trip, you will still be required to turn in all of the assignments you missed.  However, you will have extra time to make it up.  All A-Day assignments that were missed on both Wednesday (10/10) and Friday (10/12) will be due on Thursday (10/18).  All B-Day assignments that are missed on Thursday (10/11) will be due on Wednesday (10/17).

The assignment list and directions will be posted on the blog before we leave for Driftwood (most likely Tuesday night).  If you are not going on the trip, you will be provided time in class to complete these assignments.
