Class Assignments – 10/10 (A-Day) & 10/11 (B-Day)
1. Read through Chapter 3, Lesson 3 (Pg. 62-69).
o After you read, take notes using the outlining method we practiced together for lesson 1. You must develop a main idea and at least 2 supporting details for each heading (red lettering.) Remember to abbreviate and use symbols. This assignment will be due at the end of class. Refer to the example below for guidance.

2. Once you finish your notes, create a cartoon illustrating the 5 duties of American citizens on a blank sheet of computer paper. Try to be as creative as possible. This assignment will be due at the end of class. (Remember, I don’t grade you on your artistic abilities. I grade you on the effort you put into it.)
HOMEWORK – Using the 3-column method (word, full definition, and summarized definition), define the following vocabulary words from Chapter 3, Lessons 3 & 4. Use your online textbook to find the definitions (points will be deducted for the wrong definition. For instance, draft may have a different definition other than what your book is referring to.) This assignment will be due at the beginning of NEXT class.

Class Assignments – 10/12 (A-Day)
1. Read through Chapter 3, Lesson 4 (Pg. 70-77).
o After you read, complete the 7 guided reading activities in the handout provided. This assignment will be due at the end of class.
2. Once you complete your guided reading activities, use 2 pieces of computer paper to create a foldable comparing the 4 functions of government. Your foldable should include accurate and precise information from your textbook, as well as visuals. (This will be a helpful studying tool for your Chapter 3 test.) This assignment will be due at the end of class.
HOMEWORK – Work on your Chapter 3 Project! It’s due on 10/18 (A-Day) & 10/19 (B-Day).
