(Period 1A will receive their assignment in class on Monday, 3/3, and it will be due on Wednesday, 3/5)
ALSO, I have not yet graded the extra credit assignments that were turned in this past Monday & Tuesday. I will do my best to have them updated in grade portal by next week before scholarship warnings are handed out.
FEDERAL JUDICIAL BRANCH FOLDABLE (DUE
3/3 FOR A-DAY, DUE 3/4 FOR B-DAY)
Using 2 pieces of
plain computer paper, create a foldable listing out facts of each level of the
Judicial branch (District, Circuit, &
Supreme).
You should include….
·
What type of court it is (Trial or Appellate?)
·
Types of cases it has original jurisdiction
over.
·
Types of cases it has appellate
jurisdiction over.
·
How many types of this court are in the U.S.?
·
How many judges are present during the
trial/appeals process? Is there a jury?
·
How long do the judges serve for? Who appoints the judges?
·
Was the court established by the Constitution or
by Congress?
Once you
have completed these facts, you must also include a scenario of a case that could
be brought in front of each specific court AND a visual to help you remember a
specific detail about this court (do not
just draw something vague or indistinguishable [such as a judge or
lawyer]. Draw something that only
relates to that particular type of court).
